NAVIN Programs
Due to large number of members (3915) distributed throughout the country, it has been very difficult for NAVIN to reach to its members. However, it has been serving all members through its advocacy programs. NAVIN operates its programs through a small secretariat consisting of four professional and two support staffs. It, therefore, outsources various services to consulting individuals and firms. For the fiscal year 2064/65, it has following programs categorized as advocacy, service delivery and institutional strengthening:
Advocacy programs:
1. National level workshop on ' Local governance in present socio-political context' and distribution of workshop proceedings to Constituent Assembly members.
2. Orientation training to Journalists on 'issues of local governance in Nepal'
3. Publication of newsmagazine ' Gau ko Awaj '
4. Regular participation in national level forums/meetings/committees
Service delivery to members:
1. Training to all 60 VDCs of Syangja district on VDC annual planning guidelines
2. Orientation training to Users Committees of all 200 VDCs of Ilam, Dolakha, Kaski and Surkhet districts on 'Good Governance in Users Committees'
3. Training to all VDC Secretaries of four districts on 'Accounting and Financial Management'
4. Policy research on 'Resource mobilization and utilization by VDCs'
5. Preparation of template VDC profile
